The user can listen to their favourite hits or other sounds exactly in whichever room they happen to be in, thanks to the practical option “Music Follows Me”. Because the Streamium Wireless Music Centre WACS7500 can load up to five wireless music stations (WAS7500) as well as, or even at the same time as, personal music titles. With a hard drive of 80 GB, an entire music collection can easily fit onto the newest network media player from Philips. Up to 1,500 audio CDs can be archived onto the hard drive. Thus sparing the time consuming search for CDs. The Streamium Wireless Music System receives radio from all over the world, over the internet, and does so of course in the whole house.
Luckily we don’t have to struggle with installing and configuring the device; in fact, it is very easily set up. Simply unpacking the machine and plugging it in is all it takes. The configuration between the centre and the stations automatically occurs within seconds. The next desired step is of course transferring one’s audio CD collection onto the machine. The CDs can be directly transferred to the hard drive. Moreover, the network media player can also be used as a UPnP device, in order to access music data on a PC or to put a backup of the system onto the computer’s hard drive. The system is outfitted with high quality speakers and an integrated subwoofer. With the help of the colour display on the WACS7500, music titles can be played while displaying their album covers. Though we have to be a little more patient, because the Philips Wireless Music System will only be available starting March 2008.
